Earlier it was that we have to download the video and then see what it contains making it a bit annoying when bad or not so interesting videos were downloaded by us.

HOW IT WORKS?

When a user sends you a video on WhatsApp and if you're a beta tester for WhatsApp, you'll start seeing a play icon instead of the regular download button. At the bottom of the video dialogue box, the size of the video will be written.

As soon as you hit the play button, the video starts streaming depending upon your Internet connection speed. While streaming, the video plays inside WhatsApp, but after it is downloaded WhatsApp will ask you to choose your default player such as the default video player any one which you prefer.

HOW TO BE A BETA TESTER?

If you are not a beta tester still you can do the following and it is completely official and provided by Whatsapp. NO NEED TO GO TO THEIR SITE.

To become a beta tester, sign up on Google Play. WhatsApp users on iOS will have to wait for the feature to arrive on their platform. Notably, the feature only works if the video is shared by a WhatsApp for Android beta user, and if a regular user shares a video, only the download option will show on the video.

Video Calling Invite on WhatsApp FAKE

You may have been getting Whatsapp Video calling Invite to activate this Feature you are been Invited.

But beware of this message as this is been spread by Hackers or some unknown persons either to hack your device or to make you go to a certain site to collect information about you and your device.

This has been going on for long time on Whatsapp and users have fallen into their trap.Now that Whatsapp is a popular platform and an easy target to do so.

WhatsApp introduced an invite system last year when it rolled out voice calling in phases to all its users, and appears to be the reason scamers are trying an 'invite link' to dupe users to do the same for WhatsApp video calling.

Clicking on the link will lead to another page that will ask you to invite more friends on WhatsApp. Notably, it even mentions the existence of group WhatsApp video calling - something that doesn't officially yet exist on the platform - perhaps as a lure for users who may want that extra feature. The site appears to be a phishing one that seeks user details, and may possibly also provide a download of a malicious app.
